Astella. A home, like no other.
Meet Marek and Jola,
Astella owners living their own special caravan adventure.
Jola, an early retiree former dentist and Marek, former doctor turned investment banker, are two years into their Astella way of life. This couple have a spirit, an energy and to many, a very different and inspiring way of life.
Winters in the Dolomites and summer in Sardinia. It is a full life, a blur of activity and moments of relaxation, with the Astella as the movable basecamp. Both enjoy alpine and cross-country skiing, cycling, paddle-boarding, playing bridge, learning foreign languages, reading, and experiencing tranquil moments in nature, from the comfort of their special home on wheels.
Astella is designed for this. Launched in 2019 as a new luxury line to offer a new experience it is not a regular caravan, nor is it a traditional static mobile home. The aim was to create something like no other, with the mobile advantages of a caravan and the additional benefits of a static mobile home or even a second home.
Put it down in your special, favourite place or move it around, like a regular caravan. It can be your ultimate holiday home by the lake, in the mountains, by the sea away from it all and cocooned in your own private luxury.
Astella.
The multi-award winning Astella, has its own story.
Astella is designed around the experience,
it is so much more than a vehicle. Available in a choice of layouts, each packed with cool details, even a smart app for ultimate control.
Don’t believe us, then let’s explore to the real-life experience of Marek and Jola; we had interesting insights from Marek:
We bought our first caravan an Adria Alpina at the camping show in Warsaw anad loved it, it slept our extended family, seven in total, we eventually saw the need for more space! We saw an Astella on a campsite and fell in love with it!
Now, it’s getting a bit routine! We stay 6 months (Oct.- March) in the Dolomites at Vidor Family Resort in Pozza di Fassa on the same plot and 6 months (April – Sept.) in Sardinia at Capo d’Orso camaaping.
The logic of our life has changed 180 degrees. We used to live the whole year around in a brick-and-mortar house, go to work every day... and go few weeks a year on holidays. Now, we are on permanent holidays (although, we do not feel like that) and visit Poland once every 1-2 months.
Now we have more contacts with our children and grandchildren than before; they come to us often in winter and summer; we book cottages, holiday homes for them at the camping site but some grandchildren sleep with us, or in the tent. They are always amused by a beauty of the places and by unique atmosphere of camping sites.
The main upside is that living the whole year around at the camping site is a totally different way of living, and when you are sixty something it is very stimulating. You are doing new things, new activities. We are very active, physically, and socially.
We stay in incredibly beautiful places: the centre of Dolomites and the Sardinian coast. We have easy access to winter and summer sports, there is no excuse not to be active!
You become very environmentally vigilant: on such a small space you see how much waste you generate, and we work hard at being more sustainable and eco-conscious. It changes how you live and what you really need. The main downside (not really a downside!) is that you live as 2 people in 20 or so square metres, so you need to get on! We do!
We have an Audi Q8, so towing is easy, and then we have a comfortable car to drive around.
Astella is beautiful – we have people every day wandering around our plot and expressing their admiration. It is very comfortable inside, we have comfortable bedroom (my wife says that she sleeps the best only in Astella), a cosy living area, nice bathroom and well- organised kitchen.
When we play or have lessons on-line or watch sport, we are sitting on the sofa (we have our fixed places there, we love); sometimes in the bedroom when reading or learning. As much as the weather allows outside: we try to have shady and sunny places around Astella and live inside-outside.
Any morning when the weather is beautiful (in Italy most of the time), especially after fresh snowfall in winter, or when there is no wind and the sea is totally flat, and you see it as the first thing in the morning from our bedroom panoramic door, is special.
What do your next Astella adventures look like:
No idea – we have everything planned for next 18 months, but beyond that....let’s see...life is an adventure after all!
